The Somatic Experiencing® method is a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders.
Humans are sexual beings, and our sexuality is core to who we are and how we show up in the world.
Most of us have experienced some kind of trauma in our lives- either acute stress from a perceived life-threat or as the result of cumulative stress. Both types of stress can seriously impair our ability to function with resilience and ease, and to experience pleasure.
Sexual trauma may result from a wide variety of stressors including accidents, invasive medical procedures, sexual or physical assault, and emotional abuse, but trauma doesn't need to be rooted in sex to affect our sexuality. Trauma related to our sexuality is often bound up in our emotions, in the way we perceive ourselves and in shame.
By combining loving presence, mindful touch, and the tools of Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Resolution, I can support you to release stored trauma and bring more pleasure and aliveness into your life and your relationships.
